No Book News, But...
At the urging of a few, and despite fighting gobs of Impostor Syndrome that told me not to do it, I’ve started a Patreon. I don’t actually expect much out of it, but it’s there, and we’ll see how it does over time. https://www.patreon.com/user?u=17013703 if you’re interested in it.
At the same time, I’ve begun a Discord server for fans of my work. It’s linked to my Patreon for now at the $1/month level, but I’m inviting you lovely people to join just for subscribing to my newsletter—you’ve already done the hard part! Go to https://discord.gg/94NQEbV3 to join!
Still waiting on book 3 news and cover, so nothing to report there. But I’m hard at work on Book 1 of a new series, another space opera with a different scope and feel than the Remembrance War trilogy. I’ll be doing a series of posts on the Patreon soon showing how this work is developing, but here’s a hint: it takes place in a China-inspired setting called The Boundless Empire, and it begins with an ancient weapon activating, and the assassination of nearly an entire family. And it only gets worse from there. Unlike the Remembrance War, there are more POV characters, and the scope of the story is much wider, with things happening in multiple places at once.
Unfortunately I haven’t got a good title for the book or the series yet; my working series title is The War of Ancient Rage, but I’m not married to it yet. Book one might be The Year of Rage, or just Awakening. Not sure yet. I don’t think I’ll title it until the book is finished and I have a better idea of where Books 2 and 3 are going.
I’m also planning another book, this time a standalone, that would return to the Remembrance War setting and would feature some of the characters from that series. But I’m not sure about it yet; it depends on how well the ending to Book 3 of the trilogy is received.
Well, that’s it for now—I’ll be sure to post again when there’s more to say. Until then, have a great time and try not to let the waning days of the Pandemic get you down. The end is in sight (I hope)!
