57 Days to Release!
Today marks 57 days to the release of the final book in the Remembrance War trilogy.
Starting on T-50, I’m going to be releasing, on Twitter, a daily fact about the Zhen Empire or the trilogy itself. Here on the newsletter, I’ll keep a weekly email with that week’s facts, in case you don’t want to go heading to the evil of Twitter for that information.
Speaking of Twitter and Evil, Elon Musk’s plans don’t sit well with me. Unlike a lot of folks, I plan to wait and see what happens, but just in case, a lot of my web presence will be shifting away from Twitter and back to this newsletter and my own blog, at mjohnstonbooks.com. Of course, personal friends (and fans who really want to see how boring I am) can still see me on Facebook (for now).
But for today, have a song. I heard the choral arrangement of this song, arranged by Jonathan Quick, about ten times while in Scotland in 2015, all of them live (I was traveling with the Sacramento Master Singers, a choir my wife sang with for a few years), and one of them while literally standing on the shore of Loch Lomond.
“Glorious” is not too strong a word.
Anyway, when writing What Rough Beast, I needed a song about being homesick, and also about facing death or being alone. Since this song is all three, and the house in which Liam and Tajen live is on the banks of Loch Lomond… yep. Tajen sings a few bars of this song.
Anyway, that’s all for today. See you soon!
